GB Lobster

Collaboration with SCAD GRDS & INDS

GB Lobster is a local restaurant in Savannah, GA, with a focus on delicious lobster dishes, drinks, and friendly events and hangouts with a communal feel. GB Lobster opened in October 2020, and serves customers with options for takeout, and both indoor and outdoor seating. The nostalgic laid-back atmosphere welcomes guests to travel back in time, share great coastal food and have a laugh together. This brand redesign shifts focus away from Ghostbuster, the owner’s dog and mascot, and towards lobster, and other other coastal iconography.

The objective of this project was to work collaboratively in groups with a local client to create a cohesive branded environment. We were required to create a new identity program and application materials, including menus, enviromental graphics, and wildcards. These graphics were created with collaboration with Kaleb Stephens, and the interior spaces were designed by SCAD Interior Design students Cara Harlow and Sarah Nerod. Playing off themes of coastal nostalgia and communal dives, this design is driven by clean lineart designs overlaying hashed silhouettes, reminiscent of neon sign. The colors are classic to seafood yet bold and vibrant, with bright corals and a dark sea blue. The patterning elements contain fun bar imagery and coastal icons to solify GB Lobster as the ideal hangout spot.
