The Reconnect Inn

History is calling.

The National Radio Quiet Zone is an area notable for low cell service, slow internet, and very few TV channels and radio stations. The Reconnect Inn, located in Green Bank, West Virginia, is based on the idea that this unique property has incredible connection power, and gathers and preserves every missed connection and unheard channel or station. Walking inside feels like glitching through technology to step back in time, with reality breaking between the old and the new in the same room. Guests receive top tier modern amenities with a vintage flair that references panels of control centers and submarines, with a plethora of old phones and flashing buttons, and cables that weave throughout the rooms.

The objective and goal for this project was to establish a unique conceptual boutique hotel, to design the hotel booklet, products, and advertising materials that would be provided to guests. The design draws heavily from the decor of the hotel itself, with cutouts of vintage technology interspersed with modern wires that breakup the space. Transparent panels of color allude to glitching back in time, with a color palette that feels both old and new.
